I've recently purchased and downloaded Vegas Pro 18 on my computer. I'm running an I7 3.6 GHz, with a 1050 graphics card and 24 Gigs of RAM. I do experience some lag while operating Vegas Pro, but it is tolerable and expected, so, it's not a big issue for me. The preview lag is fairly minimal.
My issue is when I'm NOT running Vegas Pro. For some unexplained reason, I'm experiencing computer lag when Vegas Pro isn't running. I edit, at home, for a living and when I run Microsoft Word to edit manuscripts, I experience lag issues, since downloading Vegas Pro. Sometimes, the lag is minimal, but sometimes the lag spikes last for up to ten seconds. I'll start typing something in Word, but nothing will show up. In fact, as I'm typing this message, I experience lag spikes and I'll sometimes type several words without anything showing up in the message box as I type. All I have open right now is this window. Nothing else.
To make sure that this issue was something related to Vegas Pro, I've experimented by uninstalling Vegas Pro. After uninstalling the program, my lag spike issues stop completely, but when I install Vegas Pro again, my lag spike issues return.
I've tried consulting with people more informed about computer programming than I am (I have no experience with this at all), I'm told that it doesn't make any sense whatsoever for my computer to lag, because of Vegas Pro, when I'm not running Vegas Pro.
And yet, as far as I can tell, that is exactly what is happening. Why else, when I uninstall the program, would my lag issues stop completely?
Any help on this at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm considering cancelling my subscription (I opted for the monthly subscription program). I use my computer for a living and computer lag is intolerable. I use Vegas Pro as a hobby. My profession takes precedence.
