computer will not read any dvd file?

I asked this a while back but no reply so I'll try again.

Win 2k, ao5,dvda, dual althlon.

burner works great for cd read write. burns great dvds, but will not read them.

When I put a dvd -r in the drive, open my computer, the title may show up on the drive but not the files. V4 also can't see dvds. Cineplayer can not see files either.

Any ideas appreciated.
TIA, John

Lucky me, a question no one can answer!

Can an ordinary DVD player read your output? Have you tried using the PowerDVD player that was included on your Pioneer A05 program CD? We use the whole gamut of Pioneers A03 - A05 on similar machines with nary a problem. Do the files show up in Windows Explorer? Just curious.

Hi pb, thanks for the reply. The burned dvds play fine on stand alone players. But the files do not show up in explorer. It's like I'm missing some key to allow me to read dvd files. The title of the burned dvd shows when I open the d drive but there are no associated files for the title. Again the same dvd plays ok in stand alone.

FWIW John, I have a Sony DRU 500a/XP Pro that does the same.

after a bunch of searching on the internet, seems like the a04 had the same problem. I've e-mailed pioneer, I'll let you know what they say. (wish me luck)
