Conflicts with other programs?

I have several programs that either came on my computer (Dell 4600 with Dell Movie Studio) or with the DVD-RW drive I got in addition to Movie Studio. I have VideoWave (a capture program), Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 Suite and some others. Should I uninstall any of this stuff, and should I author DVD's using MyDVD or Easy DVD Creator? The Dell Movie Studio Plus (an analog capture device) doesn't seem to be working right with anything. It is picking up audio, but no video, and I can't figure out why not. Would uninstalling or reinstalling any of this stuff help me?

Are you using Screeblast or VideoFactory for your capture of Digital files from your camcorder or digital camera? I had a similar problem where I added clips (avi files ) from hard drive to VF with only audio coming through. But these files were from digital camera, which were captured through usb.
No problem with digital camcorder through firewire (ie1394).

I didn't have any luck with myDVD. Roxio works for me, but I don't like it. Until I get DVDlab (which many here recommend).

I would try to capturing with default setup, then edit and then try dvd authoring.

I have had my share of troubles with video editing and still on going.
This is a great forum, but you are going to have to do alot of trouble shooting yourself because every system in my opinion has it's own issues.
