Confused about begin/end

Hello, I have a question regarding the animation of objects.

If I want to animate an object I open up the Pan/Crop screen for starters and the Begin button is already active.
If I want the object to Start its animation at a different point and twirl across the screen, for example, what are the steps?

Do I move the object to its start point, then click Begin again?
Do I twirl the object manually to its End point, then click the End button?

Is Movie Studio 'recording' the animation movements as I spin the object around? I guess I'm wondering if there is an easier way to spin an object from offscreen until it eventually ends up in the middle of a screen rather than relying on my spinning & moving the object perfectly from its starting location to its ending location.

Thanks for any clarification regarding this feature.

You can not do the animation very easily using Pan and Crop.

The object will just move linear. I.e. you would define a start point, move the pan and crop frame and then click the "end".

If you want some more advanced animation check out Ulead Cool3D. You can download a trial version.

You've pretty much got the idea down. You're only allowed one movement from Begin to End though. If you want the movement to change, or start, or stop, you'll have to split the event up everywhere you want the movement to change.

The full version of Vegas had keyframes, which allow you to specify the motion in small increments and have the timeline record them. It also allows for more fluid movements instead of just linear.

Thanks very much for the information.. I didn't even think about animating the text in another application.. duh!

I didn't want to waste a lot of time trying to do something that was not really possible in this version so I'm glad I asked!

To be clear, you can spin the text around. What happens is you check the box between begin and end which specifies that there will be a difference between the start and end position of the object in question.

So, click on end, and then spin the object around or move it across the screen. The end result is that the object won't track your movements across the screen; it will simply move from the begin point to the end point.

It is different for "spinning" though; if you rotate the objects 3 full circles, then it will replicate the 3 full rotations. In Movie Studio, you are limited to doing the spinning in only one dimension; you can't specify how it will move in 3D space.
