Connect Beachtek mixer through firewire to laptop

Hi, I have a Sony FX1 camera with Beachtek mixer and wireless microphones, all with xlr inputs/outputs.
When I want to do audio interviews I don't want to carry around the FX1. How can I output the Beachtek straight to Vegas on my laptop, which has both firewire and USB 2.0, so that I can record directly to the hard drive, via Vegas? Any helpful ideas much appreciated. Cheers.

Most Beachtek mixers I've seen only have analog outs, so you would probably want at least an USB adapter or box interface. There are many available with and without built-in preamps. Shure, Centrex and some others make an in-line XLR to USB adapter/converter if size/weight is an issue.

replace your Beachtek mixer with a Mix-Pre D - from Sound devices

You'll get much better audio, and it has a usb interface for connecting to a computer

Thanks for your responses and the Mix-Pre D - from Sound devices certainly looks good. Cheers.
