ConnectHD capture from FX1. Problems!

I have used my Z1 with the Connect HD with scene detection on but not auto convert and it worked flawlessly. Connect HD will capture anything but sometimes will not convert to avi if it has a file it doesn't like, and that's about the extent of my knowledge. Mine does work very well however and the resultant m2t file can be played flawlessly in the My-HD card if you change the file ending to tp. I'm just all ga-ga over this camera, now for some kind of playback from the timeline in realtime.

The problems I saw were with Scene Detection OFF and were at multiple points in the one clip.
One thought I did just have. The Sony download version doesn't use the CF mpeg-2 decoder so the problem could lie in the MC decoder. According to CF they make different calls to the decoder than Vegas does which might explain why the m2t looks fine in Vegas and the resulting CF DI has problems.
But on my system I also have a DVD player installed, it's quite possible that the CF code is using the wrong mpeg-2 decoder. That would be consistent with some users having problems and other not.
Question is, how to determine WHICH decoder is being used?
Bob.

A new version of ConnectHD will be released in a few days which will be less demanding on the computer system.

So, someone with a 3-gHz P4 on XP-Home (like mine) just might be able to edit with HDV somewhat easily?

Hopefully you guys are still reading this thread. The problem I am seeing is that the image appears to be interlaced improperly. Video looks great on the camera, but when I save as m2, and then convert, no matter what it seems I put any motion or pan shows rather unacceptable lack of clarity, as if the 2 lines of interlacing are a pixel off. I am propbably using the wrong terminology but any advice would be welcome.

How are you viewing this. Be aware that HDV is upper field first.

Knew there was an error on my part! Helped clean up the image some, although now a pan is choppy after rendering. What is the appropriate format to render the project to for best resolution? HD vs. HDV to then edit. At that point to render to watch keep the same format or rerender to .avi? Obviously I am confused as to the differences.

Right now with no HD DVD format the best resolutions and quality are obtained rendering to Windows Media 9 or to recode an uncompresed format with Nero to their mpeg4 format. Both of these formats of course are for computer playback with DVI output to screen.
