Constant crashes while rendering - Windows 10 KB3194496 Update Cousing the Crash

Stiven wrote on 10/7/2016, 7:10 PM

Hello,

For some reason, today I'm getting Vegas crashes on every render I do. The main problem is I can't figure out what it cousing it. As far as I am aware, I didn't upgrade any software or driver last 30 days.

Can someone help me out figure out what could cause the problem. I'm using Mainconcept / Sony AVC encoders.

My PC Spec:

  • Intel i7 5930k
  • 32 GB DDR4
  • Geforce GTX980ti

BTW Using Magix Vegas Pro 14.0

Can confirm that installing Windows 10 KB3194496 couse rendering crashes. Works fine if I uninstall this update. Problem is I can't tell windows 10 not to install it..

Er, Vegas Pro 14.0 wasn't available until 18 days ago. Anyway, if you have enabled GPU-acceleration from the internal preferences then disable it. Also try disabling GPU acceleration in the video preferences. Or you're running out of storage space? Have you started using different FX or media format? Maybe there was a Windows update? Or a driver update?

I have been experiencing the same problem with Vegas Pro 14.
The solution that worked for me was to re-boot computer every time before I began a render.

I didn't enable GPU acceleration, it is disabled. Can't run out of storage since i have 12TB space. I'm using UT Video Codec, to recorde ingame videos, and I render them after as Mainconcept, never change anything, all is same as it was in Vegas 13. There was Windows update, I just uninstalled it and will try out how it will work (This is sad). No Driver updates.

Rebooting PC didn't help at all...

But I send like those bug reports 20+ times. Hope someone from Magix reads them.

I don't want to belive but looks like uninstalling Windows 10 KB3194496 Update fix my problem? (Still haven't finished rendering, but I passed one hour, always crashed around 15-30 min. Left 3 Hours more to render)

Anyone got latest Windows 10 update and rendering working in Vegas 14 ?

P.S. Vegas Pro 13 have also this problem.

So looks like I have manage to finish the rendering after 5 hours. Good. Bad thing is I need to uninstall every day KB3194496 to make this program work?

Stiven, reading this topic makes me curious to try render on my system. Also have recent Win 10 KB3194496 update installed. Have the 50 minutes project containing AVCHD and DJI Osmo media, render to MP4 with Sony AVC Encoder (internet templates). The render goes smooth for 2 hours.

Win 10 KB3194496 update installed here.  I just run a test, I have no issue with both Sony AVC and Mainconcept AVC. Render just fine here. VP14

Weird.  Same thing happened to me today. Small test project that previously rendered OK, started crashing.  My RAID array was acting strange (rates kept varying) but didn't report a drive error.  I finally rebooted, turned off the indexing for the RAID array and now... works fine.   Renders reliably.

Probably the issue is related?

Ok. Looks like uninstalling KB3194496, then do the windows update again, and installing KB3194496 fix the problem ?!#$?

For some reason it works fine now.
