The value of contests like this is that they encourage creative problem solving.

For a wonderful example of this, rent or buy the film "The Five Obstructions," in which a Danish director is challenged by one of his disciples (himself an established director) to remake a classic short film, but with limitations imposed by the challenger.

The ways the guy rises to the challenges and remakes his classic film are very inspirational, to say the least!

Unfortunatly I am too dull-minded to have grasp the actual content requirements for the contest - could a patient soul run it by me once and for all?

Tnx, Garo

There is no content requirement, excepting that at some point in the vid, it must mention, or show, or suggest Sony Vegas. The only other content requirements are that you cannot have any "adult" sorts of shots. ie; no porn. Finally, if the vid contains copyrighted footage or music, you must either own that copyright, or be able to demonstrate that you've gotten clear permission.

As soon as the interactive contest part of our site is up, the full "official" rules will be posted, but they're the same rules as I posted above.

I am assuming that since this is for Sony Vegas, if we show the box, or there's a screen shot of it or something that there is no need for copyright release on those images?

Just curious.

For this purpose, that would be correct.
Winning vid will be shown at NAB for the NAB party, along with other events.

Only one winner- or will there be a first, second and third prize? :-)

We haven't decided that one yet. We need to see how many entries we get.
