Contrast filter problem

Hi

I am using VMS 6

I have applied 'Brightness and Contrast' filter to my events to make them more constrast (value 0.20) and some of the events look bad now.

Several have some artefacts close to the border and one event is particularily bad - it has big squares instead of gradient color.

Is it normal?
What should I do?

Thanks
Slava

You can adjust the filter by clicking on the little icons near the end of the clip which will open a window with various settings.

Keep in mind two things:

1) VMS doesn't mess with the original footage. Any effect you apply on the timeline can be removed. Just click the icon and then click remove.

2) The preview you may be looking at might be misleading you. It does not give an accurate "look". You may have noticed the preview look is adjustable. If you really want to see how it will look your best bet is to render a small loop and then play it on your intended target media (a dvd player and TV if it is to be a dvd). You can set up an external monitor but you that is another story.

Even with 0.05 I can see the squares (not that much as I use 0.25) on output AVI

Preview in fact is looking fine

I only noticed the problem after I created AVI and looked at it in Windows Media Player
