Control Surface, Mackie/Tascam?

Please forgive if this is redundant, I have looked but not found the answer I need. I understand the differences between the MCU and the FW-1884 (for example). Mic pres, audio passing through unit, etc. What I want to know is, do the motorized faders actually move with (I'm assuming) the volume envelope (or whatever they are mapped to)? Is the MCU implementation in the Tascam functional/adequate? Thanks in advance for any help!

Can't answer about the Tascam but the faders do move and, being touch sensitive, record the movements you make with them into the volume envelope in Vegas when automation is enabled on the MCU.

I'd asume this would be the same on the TASCAM as it is a fairly standard function on moving fader consoles.... the main reason they exist actually ;-}

Thanks Steve!

Since buying one of these is a major outlay for my "hobby house" I'm just trying to avoid surprises. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out!
