Not much more than you've already noted. Main market would seem to be for high end HiDef systems that need HD SDI input.
If you do need to output to HDCAM then this unit would be ideal as you could output HDV and have the box convert to HD SDI. You could do the conversion in Vegas but to PTT you need monster sized very fast SCSi RAID systems.
