converting 1080p60 to 1080i

The Panasonic TM700 camcorder can record 1080p60. The image quality is great, but 1080p60 playback is perfect only on my PC (Nero Showtime, Q9550). The PS3 seems to work at first glance, but watching closely, you sometimes see stutters on these files, apparently depending on scene complexity. I know people hate interlaced video but 1080i always works fine, and that's what I want for producing AVCHD and BluRay discs. I've tried 1080p30 but I don't like the look for my particular material (high motion -dance performance).

This brings me to the question: what's the best way to generate 1080i from 1080p60? With p60 camcorders being new, I'm not sure Vegas does this the best way and I'm wondering if I'd get better results doing it myself (via avisynth script). I could spend a day experimenting with the options, but I'm guessing I'm not the first person with this question- any suggestions out there? Thanks!

Vegas will convert the 60P to 60I files just fine by simply rendering to one of the 59.94i templates. It will seamlessly change the 60p (actually 59.94p) into 59.94 interlaced fields per second in an 29.97 fps file.

I've converted several 60p clips from my TM700 with Vegas - haven't seen any quirks, artifacts, or glitches yet
