converting bup files

Trying to edit some footage but the material will not import - the format is BUP files - any idea how to convert these?

Nope. Install the latest ffdshow-tryout (I gave a link to that yesterday, on this forum), and see if that fixes it. If not, try the freeware SUPER to convert these files to another format. If that doesn't work either, I think you are out of luck.

.bup files are merely backups of .ifo files, which contain such information as where menu links should go to. These files don't contain any video at all.

You should be using the .vob files. These are the only ones that contain video.
