I am a newbie and want to convert ms power point slide show(2007) with annimations no voice to vegas video. I have tried multiple software that converts to avi video file, but cannot transfer and get open in vegas. This is the third day and I am really frustrated. Tried camtasia and was really easy, but wanted to go vegas because of all the possibilities. Help Please. Thank you Dave

The transfer from PowerPoint to video almost never works, unfortunately, Dave. The text almost always comes out unreadable.

Camtasia is far and away your best bet -- even though the file it creates will be playable on a computer, not on a TV.

But if that's your goal, go with Camtasia. It may not have the editing power of Vegas, but it will produce an MP4 at pretty much any resolution you set it for. (If your plan is to display this video online, you'll want to limit the resolution of your recording, however, or you'll have bandwith and playback issues.)

Camtasia is a screen recorder, and fairly pricey.
Wondershare PPT2Video Pro is one of the better direct converters. I'm sure it has a free trial.

Quickest way is to upgrade to PP2010 - it exports as windows video.

Second best way is to export all slides as jpg, then do a slide show. In VMS11 Production suite Slide Shows are very easy to do and you can put great sound using sound forge.
