I know that Vegas 3 had a Batch Convert application, but I don't believe that it came with Vegas 4, or maybe it did and I just missed it. Anyways, if you have a lot of files that you need to convert then search around on the SoFo site and I think you can still download the Batch converter. If you only have a few files then the easiest way is to just load them on the timeline and render them out just like you normally would.

You can do either/or. Sony's Batch Converter can do this, but it doesn't use the Sony Codec, it uses MSDV currently. I hope this changes.
Vegas will read QT natively on the timeline though, so it's no big thing to edit/view/preview QT in a project and then render it out.
