Newbie question... How does Vegas convert QuickTime files to AVI? Do you simply import the QuickTime file and export it to an AVI file within Vegas... or do you use some type of batch converter?
I know that Vegas 3 had a Batch Convert application, but I don't believe that it came with Vegas 4, or maybe it did and I just missed it. Anyways, if you have a lot of files that you need to convert then search around on the SoFo site and I think you can still download the Batch converter. If you only have a few files then the easiest way is to just load them on the timeline and render them out just like you normally would.
You can do either/or. Sony's Batch Converter can do this, but it doesn't use the Sony Codec, it uses MSDV currently. I hope this changes.
Vegas will read QT natively on the timeline though, so it's no big thing to edit/view/preview QT in a project and then render it out.
