Maybe someone else out there has had to deal with this situation…
I’m shooting in 16:9 aspect ratio with three cameras…
The main camera is a JVC HD1, and it’s the main camera because it has a better lens and better picture.
The other two cameras are Sony PC100s
The problem….
I’m starting to capture images with the Vegas 6 capture tool, and the problem I’ve got is that the JVC actually uploads a 4:3 aspect ration with black bands across the top and bottom of the screen, whereas the Sony cameras upload a full screen 16:9 aspect ratio without the black bands across the top and bottom.
Ultimately, the finished product will be a 4:3 aspect ratio with the black bands on the top and bottom of the screen as that’s how the distributor wants the image to look.
Sooooo… Has anybody out there had to reconcile this issue – i.e. does anyone know ho I can convert or render the images from the Sony cameras to that they will show a black band on the top and bottom of a 4:3 aspect ratio?
Or, if not, is there a way to add the black bands to a 4:3 ration to make it appear as 16:9?
Thanks!!!
