Cool 3D Transitions?

MarcS wrote on 7/14/2004, 2:25 PM
As a former Canopus/Premier user who feels quite happy now in the crash-free Vegas realm, I had the opportunity to review some of my old Canopus/Premier projects the other day. I was impressed by some of the Xplode 3D transitions I had used for some cuts and was wondering whether there were any sources for jazzy canned 3D transitions for Vegas? I enjoy what comes with V5.0, however Canopus (as does Matrox) really have great software transitions.

I know one can create tracks with 3D effects, but it's truly easier to take advantage of plug-ins for this. Any sources for this?

Wax plugin for Vegas can do the 3D transitions you are looking for. But it does not come with a big preset library so you may need to work more to get the effect you want. But once you create a transition Wax allows you to save it as a preset for future use (and even share with the community).

adorage seems to be about $40 or so, is that right? Wow, seems reasonable.

Any other transition packages that folks have found and liked under $100?

Things have changed for Wax since July when this thread started and Satish posted his reply…
In Wax homepage there is a link to my site where you can download the VL Transitions and Effects Presets for DebugMode WAX 2.0
Currently the collection has 352 presets that can be used in Vegas. You can selectively add and remove presets with the setup manager.
If you are using Wax and you decide to download the presets package please take the time to read the Notes.pdf document.
A link from my homepage to my Geocities site is provided if you want to watch some wmv demos but its data transfer is limited and depending the number of visitors you may get to a page saying, " this site is temporarily unavailable, it will be made available again within an hour".

I'm having problems making it to r56's site...is the link broken on debugmode's WAX page?

Any clue will be most welcome!

Thanks

Paul.
