Copying a single track - beginner

I am new to Sony Vegas and I am trying to figure out how to copy a single track. I have a track with birds chirping and I want to increase the amount of birds that you heard by adding another track but I can't seem to find an easy way to do that. When I select an area it selects all tracks. I really appreciate your help.

Simply right click on the track section - on the far left, and select "duplicate" track - it'll give you a copy that you can then play with to your hearts content

.... or highlight the track you want, and Control | Drag it to an empty space. Or Copy | Paste it similarly. SCS apps all follow the simple Windows procedures like this.
