Copying attributes

I was playing with some of the VEG files that there are available for download. One I thought might be interesting as a small clip for either the beginning or end of a project. The Brady Bunch veg allows you to replace one of 9 colored tracks with your own so that you eventually end up with 9 clips all playing at once.

That worked OK but then I decided that after playing for a few seconds I wanted the center clip to gradually enlarge until the clip took up all of the screen. This involves changing the key frame settings on the fifth track & this I did in situe. This gave me the effect that I wanted OK except for the fact that 4 of the smaller windows still appeared since they were all on higher tracks.

I created a new track & dragged the 5th clip to the top expecting to have fixed the problem. What I found in the preview window was that the top track has being displayed full size so apparently the settings weren't moved when the track moved. I then recalled that you should be able to copy attributes from one clip to another. So I undid the dragged clip & instead did a copy & paste to the top track. I then did a right clip & choose paste attributes. Once again this still didn't work.

Where did I go wrong or do these changes that I want to make require an entirely new approach? Could it be a parent child problem?

Not sure why you created a new track. Dragging the track with the Centre pic to the top should have done it.
This would have taken the Track Motion settings with it, whereas your New Track would have started without this setting.

Just thought - you may not have dragged whole tracks before - just grab them by the Track Header and move them up or down to where you want them.

But, if you DO want to create a new track, just click on track motion on the original track, select all keyframes, and press CTRL-C. Go to the new track, click on track motion, select the default keyframe, and press CTRL-V. This will copy the keyframes to the new track. However, it's much easier to just move the track itself.
