Copying Default Text changes the contents of both the original and new

Emily-Herring wrote on 6/23/2021, 7:39 AM

For work, when I use text, I copy the text to use somewhere else so I don't have to input all the stuff again (text, font, size, color, outline, drop shadow) each time. For some reason, out of nowhere, when I copy and paste a new text thing, it also changes the original text as well. Both are affected when I'm only editing the new one. I'm positive about this, and it's very annoying. I realized this too late one day, and had to spend an extra hour putting a new text thing each time to fix one of my projects. I've done everything but reinstalling, which I want to avoid, but I'll do it if I have to. What is this stupid issue causing me more time?

Also, I assume that you are referring to copy/pasting between titlers - which titler? And which version/build of Vegas Pro?

it also changes the original text as well

When you PASTE the text, an option should come up to either "create a new copy..." or "create a reference...". Select the "create a new copy...". It will default to that until you change it.

I ctrl+v so fast I don't even look at that option anymore! Didn't even know I changed it by accident. That was it! Thanks!
