Copying from time line

Can I copy video from the time line in one project and paste it into a new project? I've tried without success. Is there a shortcut?

You have to have both projects open at the same time. When you close a project Vegas purges the clipboard. Launch Vegas twice, and load both projects. You can then copy & paste between them.
