copying self created videos from DVD to VHS

I am curious has anyone successfully been able to create their own DVD and then put it in a DVD player and record from their VCR? Is there any way to turn off copy protection? I can't get my Dazzle DVC 80 to print to tape. I dont have DVD Architect and was wondering if it would be worth it to purchase the DVDArchi. ? If you can copy your DVDs it would be worth it.
Thanks - from a beginner

If you make a DVD in DVDA it will not be Macrovision protected. Nothing
should stop you from feeding the output of your DVD player to your
VCR and getting good copies.

I do it all the time with no problems.

It is especially good when you have anamorphic footage. You only render once, and then let the DVD player do the letterboxing for the VHS copies.
