Yes. Save the current effects chain from one track as an effects package, then add this package to the other track.

If you're creating a new track that as yet has nothing on it, right-mouse-button click in the track header and choose 'duplicate track' is even faster. Of course, you could use this method even when you already have items on the other track, and then move all those events to this new track.

Saving an effects chain doesn't retain any setting used though Chien does it? Just the effects themselves. Or has that changed?

Retains settings. But the setting Preset Name displays as Default.

Of course it saves the settings; it always has. That's the whole point of creating and saving an effects preset package.

OK, walk me through this. I choose what effects I want in the chain. Say Colour correction and Sharpen. I save the chain as say Arthur's 1. I make all of my colour corrections and adjust sharpen to what I want. The next time I want to use those same settings on another track, I drop the chain onto the track. All of the settings though are at 'default'. What am I doing wrong?

Set all your corrections and adjustments first, then save the chain.

OK, so after doing what I describe above, the only 'save' I can see is to an individual effect. Not the chain. Only way I can see to do it, is to save a custom version of each effect - Arf's sharpen etc - then go back and create a new chain using the customised version of the effects. Is this what you mean?

OK, walk me through this.

Let me try.
1. Click the Track FX button on the track. That opens the Video Track Effects window. Make all the required setting changes to the individual FX in the current FX chain.
2. Now, in the Video Track Effects window, click the Plug-In Chain button to open the Plug-In Chooser window. That allows you to add additional FX if you wish.
3. Without adding any new FX just click the Save As.. button and save the chain. You can overwrite your initial save, select it from the drop down Name list, if you made any changes to any of the FX in the current chain and they will be saved.
4. Click Cancel to close the Plug-In Chooser window.

Hope that helps.
Willem.

Yes, that's clear Willem. Thanks. What I was originally looking for though was a quick way of copying a tracks effects similar to the way you can simply right click copy/paste a clips effects. I guess not.

You can! Right click your effected clip and select copy. Then right click the clip you want to add the effects to and select paste event attributes. Done :)

Enerjex, that works on individual events but not on a track.

Enerjex, you're suffering from my normal problem - not reading the posts properly. :-)
