Copying video track to other project

I am trying to copy a text event with multiple keygrames for text changes at certain time-points. When I paste the event in the other project (another instance of Vegas 4.0d, the keys are gone and the settings are gone (track motion, etc.). Can I copy or export a whole track and not just the event to another project?

I have done this two ways,
The Simplest is to just render out the events you need and save them for re-use as future elements in other projects.

The other way to is select all the pieces and just copy from the timeline. The trick is making sure you have higlighted all the parts!
