Sup Everybody:

Can someone point me in the right direction on finding info re: copyrights and infringement laws. Let's say I want to expand on a commercial I saw or use someones music as background or even use someones video footage.

I need to know how to contact the Owners of various media and get permission to use stuff...

Thanks guys,

Skywatcher

Just do a search on the forum. There's been tons of talk about this lately. :) And to contact the owners you just need to give the correct person a call (the correct person being the one who has the rights to give, which varies).

Good luck!

Someone here recommended the book "Media Law for Producers" by Philip H. Miller. I picked up a copy and haven't read it in detail, but it seems pretty good to me so far. It seems to cover the same concepts that have been discussed extensively in this forum in the last several months.
