Use Bluefx colorize or Bluefx color corrector for the white balance, that works really well.
Its part of movie studio 8, or there are some really good tutorials out there for color corrections.
you can google sony color correction

The 3-way corrector with Vegas is more than enough to correct white balance. A basic guide here:

Sorry Folks, I thought my signature was added automatically, it shows I'm using VMS 6.0, so I think I'll up to version 8.0, thanks routerguy99.
It will be a while before I can afford Vegas, but thanks Eugenia.

VMS has that color corrector, you don't need the full version of Vegas.

Actually, only Platinum has wheel color corrector. That would definitely be the most powerful tool to use, but it isn't in the basic VMS toolbox.

In general, you can usually get pretty good results by using the color curves effect. It takes some time to get good at it, but if you read the help and experiment with it for awhile you probably will get reasonable results.

Paul:
You are absolutely right, so I am running VMS 8.0c on trial right now and the Corrector is easier than curves. It took a little experimentation, but works great.
Thanks,
