corrupt timeline

i'm putting together a timeline and vegas stalls/freezes for about 15 seconds almost every time i play the veg as a preview. this has happened before. makes it very difficult to complete a project. any idea what might be causing this?

Does this happen at the same spot in the project each time?

If yes: it may be a corrupt clip, or one that is split up on a hard drive that needs defragmentaion. You could try to render the trouble section before trying to play back the wole project to see if that helps.

it just seems to happen randomly. hard drive is defragged.

i think the clip must be corrupt.
