We had been bugging Sonic Foundry for years about a multi-track version of
Sound Forge and had always been told that it was "in the works". Now that Vegas
Pro is soon to be available for purchase, it looks like us loyal Sound Forge
users (we have 5 licenses) are going to be screwed since it looks like this
capability is not going to happen for SF.
So the all important question is, am I going to have to fork out ~$3500 for
this capability or am I going to have a more reasonably priced upgrade path to
Vegas Pro from Sound Forge?

Vegas and Forge are really two different products. Vegas is a non-destructive
editor and has the features of working with multiple files and tracks allowing
for mixing. Forge is a destructive editor that works only with mono and stereo
files, one at a time. The two products are meant to compliment each other.
I don't know if there will be any upgrades or discounts for Forge users. You
may want to contact our sales dept. They would be able to answer any questions
along those lines.
