I like DVDA very much despite its lack of basic dvd navigation functionality.
On a call to sf tech support last week regarding a couple of things I just couldn't believe DVDA didn't support, I was told they might be added in version 1d or "maybe in version 2."
After the call, it occured to me that DVDA really only has about a month to become a real authoring system, or at least remember what menu item was selected and allow linking the end of one clip to the start of the next.
The reason is that until the end of August Adobe is bundling Premier Pro, Encore dvd authoring, a renamed audio editor and basic After Effects for $799.
Frankly, with the current questions about the future home of sf software (and I use VV, DVDA, APro and SF) and the best beta state of DVDA, it would be foolish for anyone, myself included, who earns a living with this software not to hedge their bets by purchasing the Premier bundle.
I would much prefer to stay with VV which is a pleasure to edit in and DVDA which could be a very slick app if it actually was 'dvd authoring software,' but I really can't afford to work with tools that don't quite do the job.
Hopefully sf is aware of this and will make an attempt to bring DVDA up to specs soon.
Richard
