Countdown Timer Vegas Pro 20

Build 403

I would like to add a countdown timer to a video. I have watched several videos on how to accomplish this, but unfortunately, I cannot get the timecode to reverse within a Text Box.

I have tried selecting the Text Box and selecting Reverse and I have also tried selecting the Text Box and selecting Insert/Remove Envelope Velocity and then dropping the velocity bar down to the bottom, but this does work either. I have also tried using "Title Boxes" instead of the default Text Box, but this doesn't work either. It appears that others online have had this problem as well, but I have not seen a solution posted.

Does anyone know of a work around?

Try nested project workaround. 1st project contains only whatever method you do for showing a timer that is count up.

Then, in 2nd project, insert that 1st VEG project into timeline and reverse playback the clip.

Thank you for the prompt reply. This is a great work around and I will use it for my current project.

@John-Anton Hi, I don't know if this is the same as set's version?

  1. Nest your event,
  2. Reverse the event in the nested timeline,
  3. Add the timecode to the nested event,
  4. Return the Parent of nested event,
  5. Reverse the event thereby returning it to it's orig but with the timecode counting down.

Similar concept, but different than Set's suggestion. Thank you!
