Couple of Questions - new guy

Thanks for taking the time....i have my vegas 5 ordered and on the way, I have been using the trial version. Customer support tells me that I can install Vegas on all machines in my studio, but it is also said that two machines on the same network cannot run vegas at the same time. Is this true? and, to do network rendering, does vegas need to be up and running on all comp's to work?
Thanks in advance for any input!
Scott

When you buy Vegas you get a couple of licenses. One is for use. In addititon, you to the use license you get two render licenses. So you can set up a network render using three machines, your Vegas box and two render nodes. If you want to use more machines, you can buy more render licenses.

The use license allows you to install Vegas on at least two different machines (It may be more than two, but I don't know.) as long as you don't use both at the same time. The most common example using Vegas on a laptop for field work and a desktop for studio work.

Buster - can you tell me if there are video plug-ins that are used with vegas, and if so which ones could be recommended? I have a recording studio {audio} and consider myself above average with audio editing, but am very new to the video scene.
thanks again...
Scott.

By the way, if you just bought Vegas 5 in the past month, you should qualify for a free upgrade to Vegas 6. I would call customer service.

They are video plugins that work directly with Vegas and others you can use outside of Vegas and bring in. Perhaps not as many as the tons of audio Effectst that work with Vegas.

What exactly are you looking to do? That will help folks recommend stuff to check out. One category of plugins that are great for Vegas is scripts. There are free and commercial scripts out there that really speed your workflow.

Here's some general links that every Vegas user should know. Enjoy.
