Couple of simple transition/crossfade quests

[From a beginner].

Can you set up a crossfade or transition between clips on different timelines? If so, how? It is easy on the same timeline, as if you just drag to overlap, then a crossfade is inserted, and you can then change it to a different transition. But, how to accomplish this on different timelines?

How can i select a transition to delete it? I have one at the end of a video clip (that is the last clip on that timeline), where i want to just get rid of the transition, but not cut the clip itself. I cannot figure out how just to grab the transition to delete it. If i select it and rt. click and 'delete' it thinks i've selected that whole piece of media and deletes it all, not just the transition.
Thank you.

Crossfades between tracks is easy! Start by positioning the clips so that they overlap, but on their respective tracks. If you grab the top corner of a clip you can drag it in to the clip to adjust the transparency, so you have the end of the first clip going from 100% opaque to 100 transparent while the second clip goes the opposite way.

I can't duplicate your problem with the extra transition - is there another clip in there that's completely overlapping what you see as the last clip? Try zooming in on the timeline to see if there's something else there.

Are you saying you want to get rid of the fade? If that is what you want to do you can just click on the fade icon (the quarter-circle looking thing) and drag it to the end of the clip.
