Crash in editing DJI HEVC files

Hi I am currently using Vegas Pro 20 for my drone footage editing, it is very often that Vegas pro crash during the rendering of video, media file is in DJI HEVC format. When this happen, I need to identify the file cause the crash, and convert the HEVC to AAC or other format, then edit in Vegas Pro. It is quite frustration experience. I wonder if Vegas Pro 23, has any improvement in handling of HEVC file?

Download Macrium Reflect and save a system image.

Download Vegas PRO 23, run the trial and see for yourself.

If you don’t see improvement, restore your system from the saved image and forget the whole thing happened.

23 has big improvements in handling HEVC, especially for NVIDIA GPUs. I also agree with testing the 23 trial.

Tks John and Roger, I download verison 23 and trial few renderiing of the HEVC files that crash verison 20 before. No more crash in v23 so far. Will try few more. Though I do not experience crash, but another issue happened in v20 is during the rendering of few specific clips, the speed suddently dropping form 30fps to 1 fps, for few seconds in a part of the clip, then the speed pickup again normally, this still happen in V23, not sure if is another bug. I notice significant performance improvement in the editing and preview, however not much difference in the rendering speed.

It may not be a bug but a bottleneck. Does it slow down during a crossfade or transition?
