Crashes when splitting clips

Vegas Pro 14 Edit Steam Edition

Build 271 64-Bit

Program will randomly crash when splitting clips, tried uninstall/re-install, tried changing the GPU acceleration of video processing, nothing works. This is absolutely ridiculous. I don't do difficult edits, I paid for this product and it can't handle splitting clips, something that any cheap or free editing program has no trouble with. Any help would be appreciated, because I do like the program when it works.

Is this problem with one specific project? One specific type of media?

No, it happens with every project, and it is just a simple mp4 file, nothing crazy. I see no reason why it shouldn't be working.

Obviously, Vegas CAN handle splitting clips - there must be thousands of users doing this every day; regularly.

So, your challenge, is to identify what peculiarity of your system or the way of doing things is leading to this oddball error.

As a start, I would search this forum for issues with splitting. I seem to remember there being a weird corner case, where if you hit the split key followed by an immediate delete while the playhead was running, the program would crash. Not sure if this has been fixed.

More info about what you are doing is needed - project properties, media properties, workflow, system setup, etc.

Look at the FAQ's for how to post this info.
