Crashing!

Re 7.0d & Cineform, my crashes mostly happened when the system was quickly working with numerous files - usually either when opening the project while it was building the initial timeline thumbnails, or opening the Project Media tab while it built the thumbnail for each file.

I reverted to Vegas 7.0b and CF 3.2.3 and have been able to work crash-free ever since...

Edit: I also have 4gb memory.

ACE- how many separate MPEG-2 files* are you trying to load in the project?

(* how many files that are _not_ 1080 HDV or XDCAM)

I've had the return of the solid red video when dragging a long CFDI clip onto the timeline ....
Had this problem along with crashes when adding several CFDI clips at once to the TL.

Thought this was fixed with the latest versions of Cineform and V7d....guess not

The weird thing is that the long clip (I'm dong some time lapse video) looks fine as a thumbnail in explorer window, plays fine in Windows Media Player BUT when I would try to drag it to the timeline I get a solid bright red clip for video, and nothing but a straight line for audio.

On a lark I clicked on the clip in the XP explorer (thumbnail) and then clicked "Open With...Vegas" and it loaded correctly and I could work with it in Vegas.

Perhaps the CFDI is not encoded right?
Vegas is choking on it somehow?

Can't figure if its the intermediate or Vegas that is causing the weird behavior.

I did have to re-capture the long clip (45min) onto an internal drive otherwise it wouldn't capture right into a 1394 ext hard drive....
it would hang and give me a zillion 0 byte clips that were unreadable.
