crashing

Hey guys,

one more thing as well... i was working with Vegas the
other night, and crashed a couple of times. It happened
when I had added a assgnable fx and chained 3 or 4 effects
on that bus. Im using a delta 1010 I/o box to input. Im
picking up some powered monitors friday or so, but as of
now, im jsut moitoring through sound blaster live card.
could this cause problems? Ive got 128 megs of ram, 667
PIII and 20 gig drive. I also had a crash in sound forge
when I was editing a wave. That was after 6 or 7 effects. I
check ed each program for viruses, or problems, didnt seem
to be a problem.

ALso, while im here, whenever the record enable button is
enabled, I alwasy get a constant low level wind blowing ,
crackle sound. if you turn the comp monitors up loud, you
can hear it bad, and you can see it in the vu underneath
the track at a constant low level signal. If it is the
sound blaster live, would the powered monitors running from
the direct outs from two channels on the I/o box fix that
problem? Or will I still need another sound card for
reasons? Im confused! thanks for any help!

Hello Brad,
It does sound like a soundcard prob.
I personally have not been a fan of soundblaster for anything but
games.For serious audio,especially if doing others work,buy a good
card. You will pay $300-$400 but worth the headache in the
end.Dakota,Hammerfall,etc.
Good luck :-)

great! Thank you David!

the one question I have is, the I/o box I have is interfaced to a pc
card. you can actually set the outs of the box for monitoring from
the control panel of the box. Will that monitor through that pc card?
that is interfaced to the I/o box? Or is that only for multitracking
and syncing purposes? if thats the case, then i will still need a
seperate sound card for monitoring my I/o box ins through a bus in
vegas , correct?

Thanks again!
