Crashing instead of burning

That's what I'll do tonight. There are two or three other things that can write to the CD/DVD drive.

Okay, I've removed everything I can find that could possibly burn a disk, aside from Vegas and DVDa3 and I've rebooted the system. Still crashing when DVDa3 does...well, it doesn't get to do anything but when I'm in the "burn" tool and select "Next" after choosing my project directory, DVDa3 crashes immediately and totally.

Sony SDB, I don't see any reason to bore people with the step by step drama. Maybe in your next email you could also put your address down as text. Perhaps your reply-to address isn't right, or perhaps your email server is blocking sbcglobal addresses.

I promise to post the fix if we ever find it. Even if it's of the "loose nut behind the wheel" type.

Rmack350 -
Any news on this issue? I'm also experiencing this - frustrating.

I am also experiencing the nforce chipset problem (No sony products recognize any drives - Vegas6, SF8, CDA5.2, and not sure on DVDA since it crashes before I get to the Drive choice.)

Vegas 6.0b should have fixed the drive recognition problem, at least in Vegas. It includes some new DLLs. These same DLLs will appear in the next minor rev to DVDa3. So, if Vegas 6.0b solves your problem for Vegas, drop me a line at rmack350 at sbcglobal dot net and I can point you to the replacement DLLs that are in Vegas. You'll have to copy them over to DVDA3 until the next rev revs.
