Crashing on rendering

Chris-Baldwin wrote on 7/20/2021, 11:20 AM

I have a new install of Vegas 18.0 (upgrade from Movie Studio). Since purchase it has been crashing randomly. Now on rendering it gets to 21% then stops. I then force close it. Open again, render and it gets to the end, then I can't open the output video.

Windows 10, 16GB RAM (50% utilised when Vegas is rendering). CPU looks OK.

Thank you for your response. Source files are mainly from OBS. Some may have a different fps than the project as they come from older projects. The project was originally Movie Studio. The template is Magix HEVC/AAC MP4. (I don't have any idea why it is a 'MAGIX' template though or what that means and I have looked at the Help file.) Hardware Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz   3.40 GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

Are there some crash logs or other diagnostics somewhere?

Try set Dynamic RAM as 0

As for editing OBS source files, next time try capturing in low CPU preset:

I rarely capturing screen and edit it, but it's said that recording this way can help to be more stable situation.

Still no luck trying these settings. I have put a support request in. Thank you for your help.

@Chris-Baldwin Can you clarify your comment on the project originally being in Movie Studio. Does the same problem occur in VMS?
