Crashing while Deleting Tracks Vegas w/update patch

Good Evening,
I am running a PIII 450
w/ 128mb sdram 100mhz, 2 13gb UDMA. Gadget Labs Wave 8/24.
Nothing other than basic OS (win98 R2) loaded in toolbar.

Vegas is being very erratic when in record mode. Crashes on
deletion of tracks, also multi-tracking (over 2 trks) shows
all inputs active but only 2 track recording. Here is the
error message when deleting the tracks:

VEGAS caused an invalid page fault in
module VEGAS.EXE at 0177:004cf51c.

Being the .EXE I see this as a major problem with either
the basic application or the recent upgrade.
I need help fast as this is being used in a studio
environment.
Thanks ahead of time!
Steve

Did you name the scribble strip with a / or \ in it? I just found a
bug that crashes Vegas.exe when you name the strip with these
characters and try to record.
