I am creating a 16:9 DVD for a friend and want to let her preview streamed clips on the web. I understand Windows Media Player only renders square pixels - is there a way in Vegas 5 to render my 16:9 project so that it can be viewed at the intended aspect ratio when streamed to WMP?
Yes... just render to the square-pixel equivalent of your 16:9 ratio project. Just like the square pixel equivalent of 720x480 is 655x480 there is the same equivalent for widescreen. If my math is right that would mean that you should probably render to 424x240 (or thereabouts) to get an equivalent widescreen format. Basically make the width 1.77 times the height.
