Creating a custom extension or add-on for Studio

I'm just an occasional hobby user of Vegas so can't justify the upgrade price to get the full Vegas Pro in order to access it's scripting capabilities. However there are one or two repetitive task sequences that I would like to automate.

I'm comfortable programming with VB or javascript and was wondering if I could create my own custom DLL extension or add-on that I could access from Vegas Studio?

Any tips or advice would be gratefully received.

No. You have to use Pro at this time to write your own scripts.

The question is about plug-ins, not scripts. There are quite a few plugins that work in movie studio, do they use some special SDK for MS? Is plugin SDK for Vegas compartible with movie studio to some extent?
