Creating a DVD

Sorry that this may not be directly related to the Vegas but after I am done rendering my video to be transferred to a DVD-R, the CD creation wizard (as well as the properties window of the DVD) tells me that the brand new DVD that I put in the drive is full. Huh? There must be something simple that this I'm missing. Probably a Windows thing but of course I'm clueless. Can anyone show me the light?

"CD creation wizard"? Are you seeing that in Vegas? That's or making audio CDs or possibly Video CDs, depending on which screen you're looking at. It's probably complaining that you don't have a valid blank CD-R in the drive.

If you want to make a DVD you have to use DVD Architect Studio.

Well I have an older version of Vegas - Vegas 6 - just for home video and the like. It did come with DVD Architect as you mentioned but the Movie Studio + DVD software lets you create a video CD or DVD when you're done editing. It looks like Vegas renders the video, saves it to a temporary location and then "turns you over" to that file for you to take the steps to copy to a video CD or DVD. That's where I'm having my problem. I bought a new DVD read/write drive and new DVD-Rs but for some reason it's just not letter me do that final step. I don't know if that makes sense but there you go.
