Creating a subfolder in the project media tab

I am editing in vegas pro 11. sometimes I shoot a long clip without cutting the camera. (wedding ceremony) so I have approximate a 20 minute clip. I edit the clip in the timeline. At certain points, I have a few shots that I would like to either save for later or re-use as B-roll. I would like to know if it is possible to create a separate folder within the Project Media Tab and Call it B-roll and then drag the clips that I made within the timeline into the folder.

Also, I would like to make a separate subfolder and call it "Montage" since I am trying to accomplish the following. - As I am editing the video (wedding) I see certain shots that I would like to use for an opening or closing montage. I would like to be able to duplicate the entire clip and trim down what I would like to use for the montage and put it in the folder so I can easily find it when i am ready for it at a later point in the edit session.

Does anyone do this or accomplish the same goal by doing something else??

Any help would be appreciated.

Gabe, there are three (and probably more) ways to do this:

1. I use the Vegas Media Manger and tag my clips with the desired use. The advantage of this is a clip can carry several tags. For example, you might have a clip that is both b-roll and montage material.

2. You can use the media bins - one for each category. I don't normally use media bins and I think there may have been a bug with the bins - not sure if it is still around in 11.

3. You can create Windows subfolders under your project folder, then access them via the explorer in Vegas. You may also be able to sort by location in the project media - not sure and I am not at my Vegas PC at the moment.
