Creating AVCHD that will play ON MY Canon Vixia HF

Hi all,

I found very slim pickings in terms of info on this topic.
When I show a video presentation, I like to play if from a camcorder into a projector (rather than a PC or a portable DVD player) currently I am doing it on a miniDV - but I want to see if I can play it off of my Canon Vixia HF10. Which has mts files and a whole stream directory structure.

So far I have heard that Nero can do it ... - but I really think /hope that I could get it done without buying more software ...

Someone Industrious did a Kludge .. by replacing an existing file (that needs t obe as long or longer than your file)

Is there an easy way - or a definate way evne if a few steps to do this.

THanks
Allen

If you want to really kill 10 birds with 1 stone then get yourself an HD "Mede8er" media player. This player plays FLV, AVI, AVCHD, MPG1&2, WMV and even MKV files. It has an HDMI output as well as Component and AV output jacks. You can plug it into LCD TVs or projectors. It play AVCHD perfectly.

I also have the Canon HF10 with a 16GB HCSD card which can be plugged directly into the Mede8er. I installed a 1.5 TB drive into it.
It also acts as a backup drive for my portfolio and movies and JPG pictures. You can also connect 2 USB devices into it. The Mede8er is totally portable as it even comes with a carry bag and remote.

It is really an awesome device.

looks cute - and could be a solution for several things
of course, i was hoping to be able to not need to buy new hardware.

I have started having some luck trying the suggestion in the link I posted ...
Still working on parameters - at first the volume was having issues ...

I DID see though that at 15K mbps it was struttering .. but at 10K it seems to be better

once I find a good configuration I will post it -
But if anyone has a better more elegant solution that does not need a Kludge
I would be happy to hear about it.
