Creating background in Photoshop, text also?

Hi all,

I have always created my backgrounds in Photoshop or in Vegas and then added media and chosen "Text only" for the button.

I am wondering how to add the text in Photoshop or Vegas and then just have a "rectangular bar" under the media to be selected. Or do I have to use the text in DVDA?

A bit confusing I know, but thank you...

If you are looking for a "lower thirds" effect, do it all in PS, and don't add text in DVDA.
Hope this helps. And btw thanks for an intelligent question.

there's also the option of making the whole menu in DVDA via psd files. Check the online help or pdf manual for details on that as it needs specific naming conventions to work.

Create your text in Photoshop or Vegas and use that as your background in DVDA. In DVDA, drag the video file onto the screen so it appears as a button. Right click the mouse button on the button, go to "Button Style" and then press "Text Only." Once this is done, press the F2 key and delete the text for that button, it should say "no text." Now, with the button still selected, go to your button properties panel and go under the highlight tab. For style, choose underline. Now you can place the button on the background where you have the text and it will underline the text as a button. That's it
