It's a strange requirement: when all events in your timeline are in mono, they should be rendered in mono, I mean, stereo which the L&R channels with exactly the same.

I assume you want to solve the problem of this event. All you have to do is Right-click -> Channel to make it keep only the right channel.

@zzzzzz9125 Hi, I guess it depends on whether there is any audio on the other channel that looks empty,

I'd right click the event on the timeline & choose Combine, that way when you render you'll get the same through both L & R channels. Anybody listening with headphones or stereo speakers will hear the same volume from L & R.

Thank you both @Gid and @zzzzzz9125 for your replies. I am aware of these options of working on the event itself. the thing is that there are dozens of such events on the time line and I am trying to find a way of rendering the whole clip so that the two channels are combined. Just to clarify, you are right, one channel is indeed empty. That's why I am looking for a way to render the whole clip into mono.

@Rony-Alfandary If you select all the Channels option is greyed out, if you select just all the audio then the Channels option is available,

There's a mouse function Left click & hold then right click makes a rectangle selection box, with the left click still held then right click again makes a vertical selection option, right click again makes a horizontal selection where you can select all in the audio track & the Channels options are available.

---------------------------

Video for Windows has a Mono option, it creates a big AVI file. 2GB for this 16sec event.

Dragged back in it looks like this.

I never do this so I'm just experimenting, there may be another render template but I'd do the Right click - Combine or Right only option & render as AVC

Another way to create a mono track on the timeline is, when you've finished editing, to render the audio track to mono via one of the template options in Wave (Microsoft), then place the mono render on the project's timeline. The trouble is that when you render the final project to 4K or FHD, the audio track will almost certainly be stereo - though mono because of identical L and R tracks. One video/audio render template that offers mono is 'Video for Windows' but that is DVD standard - 720 x ???.

@Gid @Dexcon thank you both. I have done some experimenting and it does seem that working on the event itself as suggested is the best option. many thanx

You would always use a script to change all audio events to "Mono" (which is "Combine").

aevnt.Channels = ChannelRemapping.Mono;
