The crispist image for text. You'd have to create your final product directly from the timeline. Don't go to render another avi or another format first. And of course, the bit rate you're rendering to, if it's too low, low quality text. After that, if it's not sharp enough, then you'll have to get in the complaining line some users have about Vegas text.
So, make your mpg2, directly from the timeline, which you may be doing. Also, certain types of fonts, just don't work well for video. And bright Red letters against a black background, no good. Others will chime in on certain problems, I'm sure.
Also, when I make movie menus with text for my DVDs, I frameserve them from the Vegas timeline to DVD-A, because otherwise DVD-A will re-render anything you drag in, already made.

Double the size of you r text when you initially create it.
That is, make it 1440 x 960 instead of 720 x 480.
And have a look at the Great Titles with the DV Codec article for even more suggestions.

Buy professional titling software or hang on for the next version of Vegas!

Speaking of that Digital Juice are currently running a poll to see how many people would be interested in a half price or better deal on ProAnimator. Sure got my vote, the package does more than just text too, it'll animate anything done in Illustrator, like company logos and it's remarkably easy to use. Only downside is the ticket price is too high unless you were getting serious mileage out of it for paying jobs. If it comes in at around $300 it becomes very good value.

Double post, not my fault. Very large feline jumped on mouse.
