Critical problem with Vegas Pro 23 (Upgraded from Vegas 22)

Hello... I just upgraded my Vegas Pro 22 to Vegas Pro 23...

Just realized a problem here.

I normally edit videos by splitting video clips into multiple parts.. For example 10 seconds and 5 seconds..

To do this in Vegas Pro 22, I just have to click my mouse at the point where I want to split my video from. Then I just had to press Ctrl + I(I gave it a shortcut key) to edit Selection Length. After this, I type the time(in seconds) I prefer.

But in Vegas Pro 23, Even though I press Ctrl + I, nothing happens. In Vegas 23, I have to manually click and drag my cursor to select a video file first and then I am able to edit the Selection Length which is really inconvenient for me.

Long story short:

In Vegas 22 - I click a point and press Ctrl + I(my customized shortcut for Selection.Length) then type in the time I want

In Vegas 23 - I have to click and drag to select a part of my video files and then I can press Ctrl + I to edit the Selection.Length

Can Vegas team solve this issue? Why did you even change this?

I suspect you created your "Ctrl + I customized shortcut for selection length" in Vegas 22 and likely you need to recreate the "Ctrl + I customized selection for length in Vegas 23.

Might just clicking on the clip, where you wish to split, and hitting "S" "for split" do what you want?

The 'Selection Length' field in the status bar seems to have a problem. I can reproduce this and will create a bug report.

@TimothyVegas You need to also create that customized shortcut key within Vegas Pro 23, it's not gonna automatically pick it up coming from Version 22.

I did customize, but the thing is, it does not activate when i press my customized key unless I click and drag a part of my video file. Before in Vegas 22, as soon as I click a point of my video and press my customized keys, it lets me change the Selection.Length.

Yes. I have. But the Selection.Length does not activates when I just press my customized keys.

it only activates when I actually click and drag a portion of my video file which is annoying.

In Vegas 22(the older version), I could just click anywhere of my video and press my customized keys to activate the Selection.Length which is way more convenient.

I think so.. When I fist upgraded from 22 to 23, I couldn't even find the little Selection.Length box in the bottom right corner. I had to play around with the Vegas Window to find it.(I clicked and dragged Vegas window to make it appeard.)

In Vegas 23, the Slection.Length field only activates when I actually click and drag a portion of my video file which is annoying.

In Vegas 22(the older version), I could just click anywhere of my video and press my customized keys to activate the Selection.Length which is way more convenient.
