Hi Amy,

Thanks for the compliments. You're in the right track with Vegas!

My guess on your situation is that 1. if you scanned your pictures make sure it scans with 300dpi and keep this setting when you save the picture.
2. When you do save it, you don't have to save it in JPEG you can leave it in PSD format. Whatever the quality is in your monitor that's the quality its going to have even with the projector. You just need to tweek the brightness and contrast in the machine.

Would love to hear more about your project, rainbow room ey?Ü Goodluck!

Cheers,Ü

Hey Rune!

I just watched the video and its great! have been planning to do something like that for quite sometime. I forget what the song title is of one of Nelly Furtado's music videos but they employed the same effect and it was G-R-E-A-T! I'm still earching for that video...

Thanks again Redio!Ü

Thank you for your response. Yes it a a gala event at the rainbow room in NY for major donors to my organization about the history of the org, and how they helped change it. They are scanned very high in mostly jpeg. I think It may be happening when I save the movie, maybe I am not saving at the right quality, though I am very new and dont know much about this kind of sizing and formats.
I will keep pluggin away.

Hi Peeks

As a foreigner I sometimes find it difficult to understand what people write, especially when they write in "slang".

Therefore I ask you; Have you found "yfc_regeneration.wmv" (12MB).?

If not send my a mail and I will send it to you.

Rune

Amy,
what exactly is the problem your having with the stills you are importing?
are you changing the size, with Vegas.
If you can give us some more input we'll try to help.

Hi Rune,

Yes i have download the file and it was a very nice video! Thanks!

As Epirb said, we'll try to help you Amy. What output plans do you have for you video? DVD? You can also check the type of file you're saving it as, mpeg when you view it in your PC is sometimes looks pixelated or distorted but ones you burn it to DVD you'll see that its all good.Ü

But if you're output is VCD then there will really be some pixelation.

Try test burning it to disk and you'll see the real quality.

Cheers,Ü

Nice job, but one critcal comment. Several of the photos (like the first) have either a white, black or red border when they weren't cropped tightly around the portion of the image you're attempting to preserve. As long as you have Photoshop, knock-out is one plug-in that can make seperating foreground from background easier. You can do it too directly with Photoshop tools, actually, several different ways.

See my tutorial http://www.wideopenwest.com/%7Ewvg/tutorial-5.htm

The idea is you don't want to take shortcuts when masking. You want to go for a clean look so only the object (the bird in the tutorial) becomes a seamless part of the image you incorporate it into. If you don't crop close enough whatever part of the background is left calls attention to itself and can diminish the effect you're going for.
