cropping-hit a brick wall

I need a help.I use 2 still images. One of them is with blue background.I remove blue color with no problem.Perfect, but have problem with alignment.I am trying to position foreground image in top left corner and scale down.I ascale down to desire size, but can not position in desire place.I am hitting end of grid.
Is there any way to increase size of grid?.
By defoult-the image is positioned in center of grid.
Is there a way to position the image in any place on grid?.
If I could position image on grid off center to the left-I would be able to align
in desire place. This is a very strong limitation.
Is there any other software for editing more flexible with scale down and positioning?.
Thanks

after getting the 2nd image scaled down to the desired size unsing Event Pan/Crop, try using the Track Motion tool to place it where you'd like it in your frame. Hope this helps.

The problem I encounter is that when I was able to position in correct place and try to scale the image-it moves out of position.I tryied the motion, but some effect.Running out of grid.Try to lock, but did not worked.
I spend 4 hours trying to positon and scale down and had to give up.Had to position in different place.Had picture at http://www.angelfire.com/fl5/rebel440.
I attempt to position one of eggs on the top of palm tree.
